The first in an unintended series of mixed-media drawings, uniting themes being that they are made up as they go and have little cartoon spaceships in them. This one is more "literal" than most which followed, with a cartoony representation of a tree blowing in the wind, the brickwork entrance to a tunnel and the slightly more real-world satellite-style of the spaceship.
These drawings are little more than full-colour versions of the montage-style doodles I frequently draw in my notepad, usually taking just an evening to complete (including waiting for individual parts to dry), and originally intended just as a kind of practice exercise. They've started to become an end in themselves, and I frequently find myself sketching more ideas for them than I can reasonably complete; those montage-doodles in my notebooks actually now have something of a purpose...
If there's something I particularly like about this first one, it's the space-ship and its background. It has an innocent sense-of-wonder feel about it, like how I looked at space travel as a kid.
